October 4th Saturday Shenanigans

I actually got out today. OK the coughing and spluttering appears to have subsided, and now my symptoms appear to be that I start talking and then can't say anymore after a few words (which some people may actually say is a good thing).

We didn't really shenanigan much for a Saturday. Have a look at what we were confronted with when we awoke

Fortunately we were at the below, which is fairly obvious as to where we were when the sky looked like the above. We just made it inside and then the heavens opened up. The ironic thing is when we came out (this photo was taken on exiting), look at the glimpse of sky - the sun was shining. From the dark forces to the light forces in something like an hour?

Then time to head out to No. 2 Son's for a visit. We were supposed to be there in the evening for his birthday party, but no way I could cough and splutter and gasp through the evening, so went out for a quick hello earlier in the day. Here are a couple of photos from inside a 30 year old's man cave

Finally a stop at Splashy, Horotiu. This pillar reminds me of some of Hundertwasser's work

That was enough of an outing for this old girl. Home to put the feet up and watch some movies. Here is a couple of must sees... Fault In Our Stars... what a wonderful, wonderful movie. We (both) cried and laughed and were absolutely moved by it.  Then... the dark horse..   Boyhood... this movie was filmed over 12 years literally!  So the same actors were used for the entire length of the movie  - no substitutes, no aging make up. What you see is true to a 12 year time span. The movie is as per the name and follows a young boys life from the age of 7 to 19.  I actually will watch it again in a few weeks time - as there are always parts you miss. The 'known' actors are Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette.

There were some other movies in the mix.. but they don't rate a review. They are known as George movies - with lots of whump, bump and leg kicking and gore and swords and blood.  On that whoosh, boosh, kaboosh, heeeyaaaaa note I will leave you
