We decided to make today a road trip to places we
a) have never been to
or
b) haven't been to for many, many years
First up, was driving via Pirongia to Kawhia, and here are our first glimpses of the 'Wild West Coast'

Time for a spot of arty farty
The last time I was on this road was four decades ago. This is the 'back road' from Kawhia to Raglan - 35kms unsealed and only the last 15km sealed
We reached our destination in Raglan, and then drove via Ohautira and Waingaro Roads (more back roads, but the last time I was on the Ohautira Road it wasn't sealed at all) out to Ngaruawahia.
Finally what a contrast - leaving Horotiu to come back to Hamilton on the new super duper expressway. 200 km later - home again after our West Coast Rambling Road Trip
