April 30th. Food Court lunches and Bengal Cats

Today was a full on shopping day at MBK Shopping Centre in Bangkok. Time to think of what we need - ok, ok what we want - before heading back to NZ. The real reason for my blog is the hidden away local food court up on the 6th floor. It operates on a coupon system - ie you buy coupons for the amount you eat and all the food stall holders do not accept cash. You pay them by coupons and whatever you have left when leaving is refunded. An ingenious system used often in Bangkok, which is only surpassed by the quality of the food. I had Or-Suan, which is Oysters (at least 12 I counted for the equivalent of $NZ5) on a sizzling hot plate - with bean sprouts, egg and a sauce which is gelatinous from being on the hot plate. George had pulled pork. Finished off with a shared Mango Passionfruit Smoothie and Mango and Sticky Rice. Both mumbling yum, yum and trying not to be out off by the gentleman steadfastly asleep amidst the hustle and bustle of a food court!

We made our way home and were surprised to enter the apartment lobby and find two young girls walking their Cats on extremely long leashes. These weren't your usual domestic moggy. They are Bengal Cats. I have never seen or heard of these before. They apparently are a hybrid breed of domestic cat. Bengals result from crossing a domestic feline with an Asian leopard cat,
They walk extremely regally but we were able to pat them.

So shall I end today's blog with.... What's New Pussycat?
